To all Grade 9 students:
Give your report to your science teacher before June 10. This is part of your grade for this semester. The three best projects will get a book gift at four o'clock on June 20. Thirteen groups joined last year. Ask Mr. Chang in the office if you have questions.
Dear Amy,
How are you? I started my first semester at the university last month. About ten thousand students study on this campus, and it takes me ten minutes to walk to my classroom.
I take six courses this year. My favorite one is about sea animals, and the professor often shows us videos of dolphins. There is an old wooden desk in my room, and my roommate is tall and slender. We study together at night.
Come and visit me in the winter.
Ted
Many students study all night before an exam. They think more hours mean better grades. However, this is not always true.
Doctors say sleep is important for the brain. A tired student cannot remember new lessons well. Many students struggle with math, but the answer is not staying up late. It is better to learn a little every day.
Fresh air helps, too. Open the window, or take a short walk outside. The goal of studying is a clear mind, not a long night.
Class 901 took an English exam. The teacher put the scores into four groups.
| Score | Boys | Girls |
|---|---|---|
| 90-100 | 4 | 7 |
| 80-89 | 8 | 6 |
| 70-79 | 5 | 3 |
| Under 70 | 3 | 1 |
Students under 70 must take the exam again next Monday.
