Dear Ben,
How are you? My family will have a small party next Tuesday evening. My mother will cook noodles and make apple juice. My neighbor, Mr. Wu, will bring his guitar.
We start at six. Please come to my house at 5:30 if you can. You can bring a friend, but please tell me before Sunday.
After dinner my sister will teach us to roller skate in the park. If it rains, we will go somewhere else. It will be terrific!
See you soon,
Lisa
Do you want to make new friends? Join the Sunshine Club!
We meet every Tuesday after school in Room 203. Each week you get a new partner for the games. We also talk about a different topic and sometimes cook together.
New members are always welcome. You do not need to be good at anything. Just bring a friendly heart and a big smile.
Please write your name on the paper next to the door before this Friday. Ask Miss Lin if you have any questions.
Many students feel shy when they meet a stranger. Their hands get cold, and they do not know what to say. Almost every student feels this way, so your classmates feel the same.
Here is an easy way. Just say hello and ask a simple question about the place or the weather. Most people are happy to answer. Listen carefully, and then talk about something you both like.
Friendship often starts with one short talk. The first minute is hard, but it becomes easy after a few times.
Sixty students in Class A answered this question.
| Activity | Boys | Girls |
|---|---|---|
| Play ball games | 14 | 4 |
| Go shopping | 3 | 12 |
| Watch movies | 8 | 9 |
| Roller skate | 6 | 4 |
Each student chose only one activity. Thirty-one boys and twenty-nine girls in the class answered the question.
