Dear Mia,
I am on vacation in the Philippines with my family. Our hotel is near the sea, and we can see the water from our room.
Yesterday we joined a boat tour. The guide was kind, and he spoke three languages. He told us many funny stories about the island.
Tomorrow we will go to a summer camp for two days and sleep in tents. I will send you photos when I get home on Thursday.
Your friend,
Sara
School Library — New Rules
New novels and poem books are on the shelf near the door. If you take good care of the books, everyone can enjoy them. Return your books before Thursday.
Reading is good for your brain. Doctors say people who read every day can remember more words. Reading before bed can also bring you nice dreams.
Where can we find good things to read? Newspapers give us new articles every morning. Libraries keep old novels and poems. Some students read at least ten pages a day.
Writing is helpful, too. When you write down your ideas, you learn the language better.
One hundred students answered this question: Where do you want to go on your next vacation?
| Place | Boys | Girls |
|---|---|---|
| Japan | 18 | 22 |
| The Philippines | 10 | 12 |
| A mountain camp | 15 | 6 |
| A village near the sea | 8 | 9 |
Each student chose only one place. Most of them will travel with their families.
