Every year our school has a speech contest. Last month I entered it for the first time. My topic was honesty, and I told a story about my own family.
Before the contest, I was afraid. My teacher told me to be brave and speak slowly. I practiced at home every night for two weeks.
I did not win, but the manager of a bookstore gave me a small gift. He said my speech made him think about his own life.
Dear Kevin,
How are you? I am happy to hear that you will visit us this fall. My father will take you to the lake near our house, and we can fish there all day.
My mother says you must get up early here. She does not like lazy mornings! We eat breakfast at seven and wash the dishes together.
Please bring your camera. There is a wonderful old temple behind our school.
Your cousin,
Ben
All classes will go to the zoo this Saturday. Please follow these rules.
If it rains that day, we will go to the science museum instead.
Class 302 asked forty students one question: What do you do first after school?
| Activity | Boys | Girls |
|---|---|---|
| Do homework | 7 | 11 |
| Play ball games | 9 | 3 |
| Watch TV | 3 | 4 |
| Help at home | 2 | 1 |
Each student chose only one answer. The teacher asked the same question last year.
